Rick’s Resume 

I guess that you could say that Rick’s career in football probably started way back in primary school. Having no male teachers at his primary school at the tender age of 9 he would call other Head Teachers to arrange matches.

Rick Played for Roffey Robins U13’s and U15’s before joining Horsham Olympic (adult) 1979 playing for two seasons.

In 1981 Paul Brant (Rick’s dad) who was a member at Brighton Road Baptist Church felt there was a need for a church based adult football team to play in the local West Sussex Football League. So Horsham Baptists FC was born.

Rick has been a continuous player and or Committee member ever since.

So far Rick has been First Team Captain, managed both the First and Reserves teams on a number of occasions, part time Secretary, Vice-Chairman and has been Chairman since 2004. Plus qualified gopher!

I forgot to mention that Rick also runs Baptists Veterans team!

Two years ago Mark and Rick felt that he would be helpful if a member of Ambassadors and Baptists Committees were on each other Committee to enhance and encourage closer links between the two church clubs. This also included the sharing of the same website.

Although he has been running and taking training sessions and teams for many years Rick has no formal qualifications and has been ‘wing in’ for a good while.

However in January he will take his level 1 FA badge as part of his long-term commitment to Ambassadors.

He also hopes to gain his referees badge during 2010.

Dislikes: Un relaible people, smoking and call centres!

Likes: My children, Ellie, Abi, Anya, Joshua and Ethan. History both reading and visting (My escape).  Spurs and Horsham Baptists. Visting new places both home and abroad. And of course my long suffering wife!
